Peace Dollar Series

United States Mint • 1921–1935 • 90% Silver

The Peace Dollar stands as the final classic silver dollar of the United States, minted from 1921 to 1935. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the coin commemorates the restoration of peace following World War I. The obverse portrays Lady Liberty in a modern, youthful profile crowned with radiant spikes, symbolizing a new era of American optimism. The reverse features an eagle resting on a mountaintop clutching an olive branch, gazing toward the dawn of peace.

Peace Dollars contain .7734 troy ounces of silver and were struck primarily at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints. The first year, 1921, was minted in striking high relief and remains one of the most desirable issues of the series. Other key dates, including 1928 and the scarce 1934-S, command strong premiums in high grades due to limited survival rates and heavy circulation during the economic turbulence of the era.

Collectors prize the Peace Dollar for its bold symbolism, elegant Art Deco style, and historical significance during the post-war boom and Great Depression. Mint state examples with frosty luster and exceptional strike quality represent prized trophy coins within the classic silver dollar market.

At Freedom Capital Reserve, we focus on investment-grade Peace Dollars, selecting premium examples certified by PCGS and NGC with an emphasis on strong strike, eye appeal, and long-term historical value — ideal assets for collectors and wealth-preservation clients alike.
